Reload

Overview

Unlike in Base JKA, you can't fire a weapon constantly until your total Ammo depletes. Each gun, and sometimes level of gun, has a different clip size. This determines how many times you can shoot until you have to reload. There is a specific key that you have to press to reload, which can be changed in the control options. Larger clip sizes are better, as reloading makes you vulnerable.

Reload time depends on the size of the clip with a few exceptions. Some weapons load faster than others, like pistols. Fully reloading a clone rifle, for example can take a while.

Reloading Strategies

When you reload, you can't shoot back. That means that you should reload at times and places that don't leave you open to attack. Most of the time, you should take cover or fall back around a corner when you are reloading. If you have to reload in the middle of a fight, you should do so frequently, so that the reloading doesn't take too long. Beware though, if they notice you are reloading all alone, they will take advantage of this.

Weapons that are exceptions

These weapons need to be reloaded after every shot:

These weapons do not need to be reloaded

  • Droideka guns: They have a decreasing heat meter instead
  • Mandalorian wrist blaster: heats up and breaks if fired too often in a short period of time
