Knockdown

Overview

Knockdown (referred to ingame as KD) occurs when a character gets knocked down. After being knocked down, a character will be helpless against all forms of enemy attacks until s/he gets up.

Getting up

Your character will automatically get up after a few seconds of being knocked down. Keep in mind, however, that some classes can get up faster than others after getting up.

—The class with the slowest getup is Soldier.
—The class with the fastest getup is Jedi/Sith. They can move in any direction to get up (roll to right or left, kick forwards/backwards, or go straight upwards).
Heros and Bounty Hunters are able to roll to the right or left and get up. This is faster than any other gunner class, and it allows the Hero/Bounty Hunter to roll behind cover if it's a short distance away, or roll away from a Jedi/Sith who has pushed him.
—All other classes have a normal getup. This is characterized by a "coinflip" that occurs a fixed time after being knocked down.

Classes resistant to knockdown

ARC Troopers can buy Dexterity Rank 3, which allows them to perform a "Recovery Roll" after being hit by something that would knock down another gunner class. This only works if the ARC Trooper has enough Stamina and is not in the air when knocked down.
Jedi/Sith can buy Force Block, and by doing so be impervious to the effects of force powers that would otherwise knock them down, like until the Jedi/Sith falls below a certain amount of FP (Force Points).
Wookiees can buy Strength, which, when at rank 3, makes them totally impervious to knockdown from anything.
Super Battle Droids are impervious to any Knockdown until the battery level falls below a certain point. Buying Recharge 3 will help keep your battery high. The only thing that does knock them down all the time is a Wookiee Slap. (It happens more often than you think.)
