Droideka
From MovieBattles II Wiki
Image:Droideka.jpg The droideka, also called the "destroyer droid" or "wheel droid", was a type of heavy battle droid used by the Trade Federation and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. It gained a reputation for deadliness over the course of the Clone Wars. Droid commanders such as General Grievous favored the droideka for its resilience and firepower, as well as the fear it could instill in even the most powerful Jedi. They were deployed in many battles over the course of the Clone Wars, such as Muunilinst, usually in moderate numbers due to their cost, and were also used as guards in various Confederate installations. After the Clone Wars, remaining droidekas would fall into the hands of a variety of factions, such as smugglers and criminals.
Droidekas are designed with one sole function in mind: the complete annihilation of their targets.

General
The Droideka is a very unique class in MB2, featuring a non-standard HUD normally used only with vehicles in base JA. The Health bar is a large red one across the top of the HUD, shields a blue one in the lower left, and the two weapons slots in the lower right.
It's primary weapons are the twin mounted blaster cannons on it's arms, which are deployed when in it's walking mode only.
At it's full speed, the Dorideka folds up into a ball shape and rolls at high speed. While in this mode, the shield is not deployed, and it is vulnerable to all weapon types (with the exception of the Clone Rifle Charged Shot). The Droideka is unable to fire in this mode.
When moving at "walking speed" the shield will drop, though the droid remains able to fire. This makes movement in this mode a calculated risk, weighing the ability to fire with the need to move. Strafing is not possible in the Droideka.
While motionless, a powerful shield is deployed, capable of withstanding significant amounts of punishment before collapsing. The energy created in this shield is capable of detonating grenades and any other explosive that comes in contact with it.
It cannot, however, withstand the blade of a lightsaber nor the explosion of a pulse grenade. In the latter case, much like the SBD, the Droideka's weapons and movement ability are severly hampered, making it a typically easy kill.
Weapons and Abilities
Shield Power
Advanced version of the shield focusing lenses are installed in the Droideka, resulting in shields able to withstand more damage before collapsing.
- Level 1: Shield power is increased slightly.
- Point Cost: 15
- Level 2: Shield power is further increased.
- Point Cost: 20
- Level 3: Maximum possible shield power is granted to the Droideka.
- Point Cost: 25
Turn Speed
Field changes to the Droideka's tripod leg arrangement allow them to move faster than previously, resulting in increased mobility and decreased turn times.
- Level 1: Turn rate is slightly increased.
- Point Cost: 5
- Level 2: Turn rate is further increased.
- Point Cost: 10
- Level 3: Turn rate is maximized.
- Point Cost: 15
Firepower
Advanced firing coils and energy storage technology in installed in the Droideka, resulting in increased rates of fire and ammunition regeneration rates.
- Level 1: Rate of fire and energy regeneration inceases slightly.
- Point Cost: 5
- Level 2: Rate of fire and energy regeneration are further increased.
- Point Cost: 10
- Level 3: Rate of fire and energet regeneration are maximized.
- Point Cost: 15
Shield Discharge
By coupling a small pulse generator to the shields, the Droideka is able to discharge a large portion of it's shield strength into a shockwave that will push nearby enemies away from it and, possibly, knock them over. Primarilly used against Jedi who attempt air-bourne attacks.
- Level 1: Enables Shield Discharge.
- Point Cost: 10
