MovieBattles II Build 19 - Released

Movie Battles II – Build 19 is now available for download. The 533Mb installation is available via Direct HTTP and FTP Download. There are 4 official Mirrors in the US, each providing 100mbps and one in Europe, also a 100mbps link.

It is hoped that within a week from release that a windows installer and bittorent option will be available, which will be seeded by a high-speed server. But please, if you want to give back – help with the seeding. After all, it is Bit Torrent and the server may not be able to seed everyone at the same time (depending on the amount of leechers).

B19 supports the Mac. Mac owners should know to download the zip file for a manual install only. The MAC package is available on the main download section also as a seperate ZIP file, so you need to get the main 533mb package first, then the MAC package.

After you’ve downloaded, you’ll need to extract it. Just make sure you extract to your GameData directory.

Click HERE for the changelog (a list of all recorded changes and fixes since B18).

Once you’ve installed it, and you’re ready to play, there are official servers and many community servers hosting the mod and more will start popping up over the next few weeks.

We have included the brand-new Trade Federation and Comm Tower maps, as well as Valley of the Jedi which is part of a new duel-type FA Mode introduced for B19. In addition, existing maps have been updated and a new heads-up display as been implemented.

As always, we encourage feedback on our forums – positive or negative. However, please give yourself a chance to learn B19's ins and outs, before rushing to judgement.

Enjoy!

Regards,

The Movie Battles Team

The MovieBattles II Team has undergone a leadership change

Tokakeke's cat is now in charge of MBII's future as a mod. This remarkable individual, with his unique style of play--perching atop Tokakeke's monitor and manipulating the keyboard with his hind legs--has shed new light upon all that MBII is and could be. Please join us in welcoming Tokakeke's cat to the role of full leadership over the MBII Project. We're confident that this small feline will steer us in the right direction.

A little while back, Kenji created a frag highlights video of Movie Battles II featuring players from around the world. After seeing it, the MBII team feels it is a good display of Open-mode gameplay, and thinks that the community - and any new players visiting the site - might appreciate being able to check out some highly skilled players at work.

Here is mbt00:

There is also a high-definition version of Kenji's mbt00 video available here: http://www.own-age.com/vids/10005
