Movie Battles II comes with an optional Progressive Item / Weaponry System for better customization as well as differentiation. In Open or Semi-Authentic Mode servers can be configured to allow players a limited number of points with which to customize their favorite classes, to upgrade their skills or buy new items or weaponry to assist in battle. This includes everything from thermal detonators to blaster rifles or even reinforcements.

Server administrators are free to decide upon the starting points players are given, as well as how many they are able to gain for mere survival or inflicting losses upon the enemy. By default, you gain 4 points for surviving a round and 1 extra point per kill. Completing the map's objective grants you even more points (5). Teamkilling/Hitting is incorporated as well - you lose points for hitting a team mate and even more so for killing one. Watch your fire.

You cannot obtain every item that is depicted in your Buy Menu, so choose the skills you want to develop wisely. The Hero class for example has such a wide range of weaponry that someone could go all Sniper-Hero, while someone else plays as a Thermal-Hero or Rifle-Hero. You could even mix it all up for a diverse selection of low-end weaponry - it is all in your hands.

This is also valid for the Force-Sensitive classes. You cannot obtain every skill and thus you will mostly have to choose between Saber vs Saber skills or Saber vs Blaster skills. You will soon learn what individual setup works best for you.

A common--although certainly not the only--server configuration is to give all players access to 80 points in Open mode, with which to purchase a variety of weaponry, tools, and force powers upon entering the game.
