Buy and Upgrade System
Movie Battles II makes use of a Buy and Upgrade System for better customization of classes, as well as their differentiation.
In Open or Semi Authentic Modes, servers can be configured to allow players a limited number of points with which to customize their favorite Classes, upgrading their skills and buying new equipment or weapons to assist them in battle. You can spend points on a wide array of items, ranging from Thermal Detonators to Dual Pistols or even a Flamethrower.
Server administrators are free to decide upon the starting points players are given, as well as how many they are able to gain for mere survival or inflicting losses upon the enemy. By default, you gain 4 points for surviving a round and 1 extra point per kill. Completing objectives grants you 5 points. Friendly fire is incorporated in this system as well - you lose points for hitting a team mate and even more so for killing one. Watch your fire.
You can gain up to 80 points total, meaning that you cannot obtain everything depicted in your Buy Menu. Choose the items you want to buy or develop wisely. The Bounty Hunter Class for example has such a wide range of weapons and equipment that someone could become a sniper, staying in the back and picking enemies up from afar, while someone else plays a more offensive role, guns blazing in the first row of the battlefield. You could even mix it all up for a diverse selection of low-end weaponry - it is all in your hands. This is also valid for Jedi or Sith Classes. You cannot obtain every skill, so you'll have to mostly choose between Saber vs Saber skills, Saber vs Blaster skills or a balanced yet not as powerful combinatin of the two. You will soon learn what individual setup works best for you.
A common server configuration is to give all players access to the 80 points right from the start of their first round. This allows players to enter a match at any time and quickly have fun without having to spend their time building up points, on the first set of rounds.
The choice is all yours, choose and become.
